Bond

A bond is security held against the hire and may be refunded when the equipment is returned under the agreed conditions.

Damage waiver

A damage waiver may reduce your financial exposure for certain accidental damage, but exclusions and excesses usually apply.

Insurance is not automatic

Do not assume a waiver is full insurance. Read the terms, especially for theft, misuse, water damage and unsecured equipment.

Document condition

Photograph equipment at collection and report existing damage before leaving the supplier.

Useful next step

Once you know what equipment you need, compare the full hire period, accessories, delivery and damage terms—not just the headline day rate.
